Talk: Reaching for the stars - the inspiring story of Maggie Aderin-Pocock

Maggie will share her remarkable path, from early curiosity about the natural world to becoming a prominent figure in astrophysics. Learn about her many space enterprises, the challenges she has overcome, and the passion that drives her quest for knowledge. 

This event offers a unique opportunity for students to gain insights into the life of a trailblazer in science and to be inspired to pursue their own scientific dreams. 

Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE is an award-winning space scientist, BBC broadcaster and Chancellor of the University of Leicester. She is the recipient of the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize 2023 for her book "Am I Made of Stardust? Dr Maggie Answers the Big Questions for Young Scientists”.

This talk will be held in the Kohn Centre on Wednesday 3 July 2024, 2.30pm — 3pm.

• This talk will take place in person at the Royal Society and will also be livestreamed on the Royal Society YouTube channel
