Storing and transporting hydrogen as a liquid is crucial but challenging due to the need for extremely low temperatures and the risk of leaks and material brittleness. Exciting advancements in materials science are addressing these issues. Cutting-edge materials like carbon fiber, vitrimers, and graphene offer promising solutions.
Dr. Geoffrey Neale, a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow and Lecturer at Cranfield University, is at the forefront of this innovation. He will reveal how his work not only improves material performance but also focuses on sustainability, exploring eco-friendly materials and manufacturing methods. Geoffrey's groundbreaking research is paving the way for a sustainable, Net Zero emissions future.
