Talk: A scientist's journey into revolutionising human reproduction

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2024. 

Join award-winning science communicator Dr Güneş Taylor as she takes you on a fascinating journey through the human reproductive system! In this exciting talk, Güneş will explain how our bodies build this system during embryonic development and how it changes during puberty.

You'll also learn about the amazing ways humans have found to control and assist reproduction, like using contraceptives and IVF. But that's not all – Güneş will reveal the cutting-edge technologies scientists are exploring, including genome editing and stem-cell based embryo models, which could revolutionize human reproduction in the future.

As a Francis Crick researcher, Güneş is uncovering the secrets of how reproductive systems form and function, focusing on the ovaries. Her work aims to find new solutions for women’s health and fertility.

This talk will be held in the Kohn Centre on Saturday 6 July 2024, 2.45pm - 3:15pm.
