This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2024

A team from the Manchester Metropolitan University and the International Tennis Federation will highlight the science and engineering behind tennis. The fascinating history of tennis will be showcased through various artefacts from vintage wooden specimens to the latest designs featuring auxetic metamaterials.

The team will demonstrate mechanical devices used to test equipment properties and outline how tennis can be advanced through sports engineering.

Attending the event

This drop-in activity will be held in the Marquee on Tuesday 2 July 2024, 6pm - 10pm.
